Is your company visible to ChatGPT? A practical AI visibility check

More buyers ask an AI assistant instead of searching. Here is how I check in twenty minutes whether the assistants know you exist.

When someone asks ChatGPT for an insurance broker in Tallinn or a good accountant for a small company, a short list comes back. If you are not on it, you lost the deal before you knew it existed. Most companies have never checked.

Ask the way a buyer asks

Write down five prompts a real customer would type. Not your brand name, but the problem: 'which company in Estonia does X', 'compare A and B', 'who should I talk to about Y'. Run each one in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. Note who gets named and who gets linked.

Read the pattern, not one answer

One run means little, since answers vary. Repeat over a week. Three things matter: are you mentioned at all, are you recommended or just listed, and which pages get cited. The cited pages tell you what the engines can actually read.

Fix what the engines can't read

Usually the reason you are missing is dull. The page that explains what you do is a slideshow of images, the site blocks AI crawlers in robots.txt, or there is no structured data saying who you are and where you operate. Fix those first, then re-run the same prompts a month later.

I built a tracker that does this daily across eight engines, but the manual version above gets you the first honest answer.
